New Kindle Fire or New Ipod Touch

While the new Fire is already out the new Touch doesn't arrive for a few weeks. I thought I would start a thread where these two unit could be discussed as they cost about the same price ($199). I am particularly interested in which might better for a younger person (10 years old), but any comparisons will be interesting and hopefully useful for many of us.

I guess the question is what will it be used for?  Almost seems like apples and oranges when comparing a 7" screen to a 4" screen.

As far as Movies, Internet Browsing or E-mail, the iPod Touch is just too small.

Also, on Apple's website I'm not seeing an 8GB Touch, so it looks like the entry point is 32GB/$299.

There are more and better education oriented games for the iPad.  I don't think the Fire or Android has the same ecosystem, and the iPod Touch just doesnt have a big enough screen.  To answer the question, Kindle Fire or iPod Touch for a 10 year old: neither.  I'd try to be patient and wait for the often rumored iPad Mini.
