Diana Krall Glad Rag Doll

Diana Krall just released a new double album available on vinyl only right now, I am going to try to pick up the 180g version locally.

Wondering if anyone has heard the new album yet? Comments?

From your subject heading, I thought you meant a Diana Krall doll.

You can listen to the entire album here: http://beta.usatoday.com/story/life/music/2012/09/25/diana-krall-glad-rag-doll-album-stream/1590517/ to decide if you want to buy a copy.

Thanks Mike, I have been looking for a site with samples. I think you saved me $25, she kinda lost me this time around.

I haven't heard her latest but I'm hoping for the best.
I'm such a huge fan it pains me to say this... but Diana's music has gone down hill since she hooked up with Elvis.

I could not disagree (respectfully) with Jazzman53 enough. Her best album was Girl in the Other room. Many songs were co-wriiten with Elvis and wonderfully original and just great music.

I will say her most recent cover album art makes her look trashy??

I think that was her plan.

Funny, it cost me $25, I very much enjoyed it, LP's should be here tomorrow. :-)

It's all relative.  Compared to Britney she looks like a Prom Queen.

Marketing (not necessarily her choice?) has made her what she is.  I think she has a great sense of lyric phrasing and timing, even if her voice is not technically the greatest, but it reminds me of what happened to the very good guitarist George Benson - the guitar disappeared and the focus was on white suits and vocals and no guitar.

Although she is no Bill Evans on piano, I would still like to see this Berkeley graduate who studied under some of the greatest jazz educators strut her stuff a little more on the piano.

BTW, although I am not an Elvis Costello fan, I did enjoy his hosting of one of Marian McPartland's Piano Jazz shows (with guest Allen Toussaint), and Elvis is a fan of the jazz genre.
