Playing on the fly

Hi Chris, James,

We discussed it a bit before, but never came back to it : have you thought about the playing 'on the fly' again.? I was confronted with a hdd with about 200gb that wouldn't fit on the 2 attached hdd's anymore, but wanted to play some files off of it. You said the Bdp ought to be able to do that ( attaching the hdd on the front USB port) without having to index/update it first.

Imagine plugging it in an just be able to browse it in the interface . I don't need all files of thise on my fixed hdd's so before really updating the bdp1's database, I'd like to browse and test some music.
Would make the whole process so much faster too.

Could you realize that?
Thanks,
Marius

Hi Marius,

We have thought about it and my recent work with playing back cd's have led to some possible methods for making this a reality; however I just havn't had time to play with it in that respect yet.
