Ben Howard's debut album,Every Kingdom is a fantastic effort!
This is easily in my top 5 albums of the year.
I don't hesitate to call Every Kingdom a masterpiece.
I would call his genre folk pop, leaning toward folk music.
What a singer song writer!!!! There is not a song on this record that is not beautiful.
Forget about little pop jingles here. The shortest is 4:07 and the longest is 6:24 . The songs leave you in rapture until the last second.
Great recording too! If you buy cd's go ahead and purchase this one without thinking twice. It's on Spotify if you want to take a listen.

There was a big, very enthusiastic crowd at the venue ( around 2000 people ).  We were expecting it to be half empty but it was packed.  Unfortunately the sound was terrible.  The venue only has a small number of seats, so after waiting for the start time, the opening act and then them fiddling around with things to try adjust the sound, by the time Ben started we had been standing about an hour and 45 minutes.  When he finally started I couldn't make out one word in 20, the bass was super boomy and everything was a mish mash.  Still, the crowd was loving it.  We left after the second song... 

So I have still only heard two of his songs...
