new computer and problems with "permissions"
« on: 11 Sep 2012, 06:14 pm »
Hi all
Thought you may have an answer. I just set up a new desktop (HP, I7 chip, 8gig RAM and Window 7 home premium). I moved my FLAC files, and Squeezebox playlists from an external hard drive then downloaded the Logitech server. When I try and manually close down the Logitech server I get a warning that I don't have permission to do so. There is only one account set up from me in Windows and it is as an administrator so I am puzzled as to what to do. In addition I did a scan of music and playlists and they are all there. The songs play fine but when I call up a playlist they are all empty????????????

I use IPENG on my IPAD  but also tried it sitting at the desktop and same thing.

How do I set up permissions in Win 7 for programs and files and are my playlists "lost" forever. Thanks

PS I hate setting up a new computer :duh:

Try clicking on the executable file (once) or hover over the icon to highlight it.  Then right click and click run as administrator.  This should do the trick.  Have several programs that need this trick.
