Bill Firebaugh's New Electrostat
« on: 6 Sep 2012, 05:06 am »
A couple of months back Steve indicated that Bill Firebaugh had a new electrostat coming.
Doses anyone know anything more?
Like some details and when it might appear.
Thanks
Bruce

I think you've got the wrong "Tesla" there.

Yeah, wrong Tesla.
I've got a PM in to Mike Pranka, he would know if anyone would.
I'm hoping for domestically produced which won't cost as much as a small car...

The word is no time soon, I'm afraid.

I'm wondering if this is the tapped delay line line source electrostat I've been waiting for for years.

It's been a mystery to me that nobody has applied the ESL-63 concept to a line source, which would have not only the line source advantages but larger surface area, important in a full-range electrostatic. It could potentially overcome some of the limitations of the ESL-63 while retaining (and improving upon) most of its virtues.
