WTB: Speakers under 1300 in MD/VA/DC

Hey, recently bought a house so my hifi hobby has to become more practical. So I sold my tube components, class A monos with dual subs and ATC monitors and put the money into savings.  On top of that, just sold another pair of speakers today, so I free up my basement lounge area and no longer have to fight over the sunroom space (where it was suppose to house the listed Strata Mini's).

Pops gave me his Onix SP3 integrated amplifier, so looking for a moderately sensitive speaker that can at least go down into the 40s.  Prefer floorstanders. 1300 is my max, certainly less is better. Please email me directly at kinchipoon@yahoo.com.

I like ATC sound, but know I won't be able to achieve it with my budget, considering my monitors were over $4K. So just show me what you got. Since this is my main music speaker, just one requirement, no built-in powered subwoofers please!

thanks, local is better, and more then welcome to text me at 4104915615

BTW, if it helps at all, I can even add a mint onkyo tx-nr906 thx ultra2 receiver on top of the 1300 to increase my budget. (yes the receiver is in good shape and does every single HD decoding; no, it doesnt have the quirks listed on avsforum; yes it includes box, mic, and manual) Has to be local as the receiver is 60lbs.

Hi,

I live in southeastern, Virginia in the Hamton/Newport News area. I have a nice pair of newly built AV123 X-LS Encores parts kit from GR Research that are fully performance  upgraded. Cabinets are constructed from 3/4" MDF and finished in red oak veneer with a golden pecan stain and a glosspolyurethane top coat. Efficiency is 87 db/1M/1W, 8 ohms. Frequency response is 55hz-20Khz +/- 1.5 db. Really great sounding speakers on all types of music. If interested, send me a reply email.

thanks for the help guys. As much as I didn't want a powered subwoofer, I couldn't resist the temptation on a NHT XD 2.2 system!

thanks again!
