Help with *.ani file format (video)
« on: 5 Sep 2012, 07:48 pm »
Hey guys,

I received a card in the mail from a retailer I frequently purchase clothes from.  The card came equipped with a 2" LCD screen, a speaker, and multiple buttons. It plays a training video about golf with the PGA pro wearing clothes by this retailer.  I would like to use this hardware package for a 30th birthday card for my girlfriend.

I plugged the package into my computer to see that the video that came installed on the disc was an *.ani file.  I have tried to install various files such *.avi and *.mpg  on the disc and neither will play. My guess is that there is some software installed that only allows *.ani files to play.

Does anyone know about *.ani files? I was reading that they may come from NeroMix or NeroChrome. Can anyone help me create a *.ani video to install on the disc?  I am certain this *.ani file is not a animated windows cursor file.  This file is 30MB in size.  I am seeing that cursor files are typically KB in size.

Thank you

I don't think its a video..probably just an animation file (similar to gif's) Take a look here:

Hopefully this helps.
