Merritt's SoundScape 8's in black satin

Merritt wanted a pair of SoundScape 8's in black satin.  This finish is somewhat unusual for us.
Most people ordering SoundScape 8's want them in exotic veneers and often them more exotic the better.

So I thought it might nice to show what a pair of these look like in black.  Here is a picture...

And a close-up...

Happy listening Merritt!

There is nothing wrong with this black satin ss8. I would not mind to own them. Congratulation Merritt.

The piano finish would look great with a classic grand piano!

Black in style! :D  The SS8's look great in black.  Congrats, Merritt, and welcome to the Salk family.

I love the look of black speakers, that's why I got my SongBirds dyed the way they are (but mine have an open oak grain). Just gorgeous.

There they are...... (sigh), my dream set. I like most how the appearance of the SS8's drivers become de-emphasized and of course black goes with just about anything. :thumb:
Congrats Merritt on a great choice all around.

I kind of want black to match my TV. My current mini-speakers (main speakers) are charcoal and go very well with the TV. Going with a custom finish though, why not if you have the chance.

I finally got my chance to hear the SS8s in person and immediately fell in love. I ordered a pair in black just as the pic above. They are awesome! My speaker search is over.  :D

 I am really going to be upset now!! The wife and I took the convertible out of the garage and headed to Palm Harbour yesterday. We met Dr. Hsu and enjoyed a great demo with the subwoofers on display as well as his "bookshelf" speakers which sounded awesome. We then went to the Angel City Audio room and truly enjoyed the Melody tube amp. Their speakers sounded terrific. We then walked into the Epson room and were impressed with the sounds produced by "Battleship". We started it all walking into the Emotiva room and enjoying "Prometheus". I saw the Salk trailer, but did not see the exhibit ...  where was it??? I would have loved to have a listen and maybe blow some cash!! Oh well, maybe next time?  :duh:

Sorry you missed the room. It was on the first floor, kinda tucked away in the back. I enjoyed the Angel City room as well, and man, what a bargain for those speakers..I was looking to upgrade my 15 year old B&W 803's. I found the Salk SS8s and fell head over heels for them.  Maybe you'll be able to hear them if they go to Axpona in 2013. Pete

EMP really stood out for value HT (they had a surround set <$1500); but from the people I spoke with (and IMO), the Salk setup stole the show for sound. Most of Saturday had people (myself included) spending hours just listening.

I was my first chance to hear the Salk speakers. I was very impressed (to the extent that I bought the STSCs)
