I've been looking for something like the following, at a reasonable price. I did come across an amp made in Sweden, if I recall correctly, but it wasn't available in the US and I've since lost the link.
A small integrated amp and DAC for use with my computer system and passive speakers. It will sit on my desk, so an ideal size would have max dimensions of about 6" x 10" x 3" (w x d x h). I'm not a fan of the vertically oriented amps for this purpose, since with multiple monitors, it must fit beneath a monitor.
Would need at least two inputs, but no great need for more. One would be for the computer, one for an audio player such as a Squeezebox. The inputs could either be all digital, with USB and both coax and optical S/PDIF, or else one digital and one analog. For my purpose, it must have a volume knob/dial (analog volume control) and a front panel input selector.
This would also be ideal for a secondary bedroom or kitchen system with a Squeezebox as a source. An IR volume remote wouldn't be necessary for a computer desktop amp, but it would be needed in a bedroom or kitchen application.
Ideally 25-40W @8 Ohms. Under $500, but preferably under $350.
