Will tar paper work for damping and controlling vibrations of loudspeaker cabinets walls compared to products like bitumen pads, deflex pads, blackhole 5?

I am no expert but  #15 tar paper probably would have zero effect.  It is very flimsy and would be difficult to adhere.  I used Ice and Water membrane as part of my cabinet damping to good effect.

We have a local autosound place in town. They carry a no-name brand "tar paper like" sound dampening material, that is about 1/8" thick, sticky on one side, and I believe, 30" width. It's affordable, (compare to Deflex or other name brands), and works quite well to stop wall reflections. Check around @ those kind of shops. You'll still need some kind of stuffing if it's an enclosed or ported cabinet.

django11,

Thanks for the tip. I found some online at home depot. About how thick is the product ?
I like the fact that I wont have to use any contact cement since it's self adhesive.
The smallest amount I can find seems to be a 75 foot roll for about $65 bucks.

The pics show two push pull bass cabinets I am currently working on.
