Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has use the mensa DIO with the Monarchy 24/96 DIP or 48/96 up sampler ?   I am just wondering if there is any sound improvement over all with the DIP?  or just waste of money to invest into it ?

Many thanks in advance..

Yes, I have used a my Mensa with a GW Labs upsampler, upsampling to 24/96. If you use this adjust the Mensa for 96K manually.
With my system the upsampling was noticably better. Better soundstage, air, and fullness, espescially in the midrange and vocals.
However, make sure you use good digital cables. Bolder cables IC's worked fine.

A lot depends on your transport.

When used with a modded CAL Delta, I preferred a Bybee in the digital line over a modded DIP MK II. With a modded Pioneer DV-525  player, I liked the DIP AND the Bybee.

Some of my customers like the DIP in line, some don't.

i bought a gw-labs dsp to use w/my self-modded di/o (not mensa, but similar).  it was unlistenable w/the upsampling, & offered no change at all when non-upsampled.  by unlistenable, i mean harsh, grainy & etched...  i gave it >100 hours of burn-in.   i'm glad audio adwisor offered a 30-day money-back trial period...

I use an HTPC as a transport and play MP3 files if that helps.
