Looking for a streaming solution
« on: 31 Aug 2012, 05:42 am »
I'm very curious about a new wireless source for my music. I really want a source that could be described as fast and full blooded - full bodied sound. I want it to play on pace and be sorta liquid and 70's vinyl like but for the musical streamer variety. I have always been interested in streaming spotify high quality tracks to my setup or being able to share files with a computer. I would be looking in the $1k range.

Thank you,
Sam

A bunch of us will be looking at HAL's music server at my place in just over a week.  Don't know much about the capabilities at this point and am waiting to see it in person.  In my case, it will be wired to the network - http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=109323.msg1126489#new

Cambridge Audio also has the slightly more upscale StreamMagic 6 in addition to the Sonata NP30 network player.

If you're interested in a network player that includes a decent DAC, the StreamMagic 6 ($1000) basically has a $600 DacMagic Plus built-in and has optical, coax and asynchronous USB 24/192 inputs and single ended and balanced analog outputs.
