FS: Hagerman Clarinet 1/2 Kit Built
« on: 31 Aug 2012, 04:45 am »
For offer is a Hagerman Technologies Clarinet line stage which I built on Jim's 1/2 kit board.

Full product information at http://www.hagtech.com/clarinet.html

It is a stock build, except for Sonicap and I believe Solen coupling capacitors.   I used the Hammond transformer the instructions called for.

It is currently is a wood box with zebrawood veneer and no face plate.  It would need a bit of completion to be cosmetically perfect, or be placed in the Lansing case the board is sized for. It is functional as-is, just not quite pretty.  I am looking to sell this as a nearly completed project, and think the price reflects this.

It works great, though I have found it to be very sensitive to the exact combination of tubes used.  Some tube pairs are dead silent, while others have varying degrees of hiss.  Included are a pair of JJ tubes, and a Sovtek rectifier tube, all with somewhere between 500 and 1000 hours on them.  The JJ tubes started silent, but now have a small amount of hiss.

I really like this line stage, but I live in Phoenix AZ and am trying to get my house as close to passively cooled as possible despite our hot summers.  I've made good progress, but heat producing tube gear does not jive with that goal.  I will be looking at some low heat digital amplifiers once I raise some funds.  I won't comment on the subjective sound, but there is plenty of information available in the Hagtech forums.

I don't consider the case a real value add, but I will ship it and a buyer could certainly finish it out or move the board/transformer to the case of their choosing.

Price is $350 + shipping from 85029.  Shipping should be about $20 to $30 for most US locations, maybe a bit less.  I will package this very well for safe shipping, and it will go insured.

Paypal "gift" or postal money order, shipping after the money order is received.  If normal paypal for buyer protection, please add 3%.  I sell on e-bay quite a bit, and I'm tired of eating paypal fees.  I have plenty of feedback on e-bay under "soewhatman" if you want to verify that I am not a flake.

Local pickup in the Phoenix, AZ area would be great.

Feel free to ask any questions.

Rick.
