In the opinion of the Eldorado FM radio and the Estadão news site to a pool among the readers:
http://www.estadao.com.br/especiais/qual-o-melhor-disco-brasileiro-de-todos-os-tempos,180016.htm
I like just two of these 30 selected albuns
1) CHICO BUARQUE, Construção(construction) from 1971, it is a MPB songs album.
Construction is a song about the suicide of a workman at the work.

2) SECOS e MOLHADOS, Secos e Molhados(Dry and Wets) from 1973, it is a Latin Rock album sing in portuguese.

Finally, FRM!  A topic we can agree on:  Brazilian music.  I don't know most of those albums but I can say there is something screwy about the people's picks.  That Marisa Monte album is probably her worst.  I do really like her more traditional work though:

And one a little more 1940's New York:

Sepultura is Brazilian, but I don't think you were thinking of metal bands.
My favorite lp of theirs is arise.

I do not like much from MPB but ''Bem que se quis'' is really a perfect song.
I would like if Marisa could sings with more lyric or jazz approach, her vocal inflection is very popular.

Seems to me these critics chosen important albums that have revolutionized the Brazilian music, not beautiful music.

Fala..  :)

As a kid (18 or so), I loved listening to O Rappa, Charlie Brown JR, and Tribo De Jah.    Muito legal.. :D

A commercial, soft pop, FM music...His biggest success is it, a naive, teenager, intolerable lyrics with a standard hardcore arrangement, zero creativity: :guitar:
