Need wireless system for new apartment

First of all let me start by saying I'm as dumb as a brick when it comes to computers.

I may need to move very soon and found an apartment in a private house that offers a turnkey solution.  Everything from the heat, electric, cable and even internet is included.  Therein lies the problem.  I'm currently using a Vortexbox.  It has to be connected into the router and the router is obviously located in the landlord's section of the house.   :banghead:

Since the router is in the landlord's part of the house I don't want (nor would he want) my VB in his place.  Plus from time to time I turn it off.

Since I would be accessing the internet via the landlord's guest account, are there any "wireless" server/music system I can use? I believe an SB Touch and Sonos need to be directly connected to the router as well (at least one part of it does).   I'd rather not dump my VB appliance but I'm not married to it.  If I use a Sonos would I only have to connect the Bridge to his router?  That may not be so bad.

Suggestions?

I would suggest the Sonos system. It does as you noted require you to plug a zonebridge in.
The new sub that Sonos came out with rocks.

Your device doesn't need internet access to work. You could hook it all up on a router then switch and you would still be able to play your music, etc just no internet access.

Yes, I just auditioned it last week in a trade show listening room. That subwoofer is good looking like a space-age furniture design, not too bulky & next to zero cabinet vibration as a quarter coin stood on top of it tight even at FULL blast! Incredible vs any conventional active subs.

A warning using Sonos system. I heard the rumour that there may be some synchronization prblems when streaming sound from a TV broadcast. The lip & the sound from a Sonos is out of pace.

SB Touch does not need to be hardwired to your router, wifi is ok.

True, but typically your server is hardwired to router and Touch is run wireless.   If server is also wireless, then that's a double wireless hop to the Touch.   If signals are strong and you're running wireless N, it might be fine.  But you could also run into stuttering, particularly if you play any higher-res content.

Something that has me very curious (but no firsthand experience) is the AudioEngine D2 setup.  Check here:

It uses it's own wireless communication protocol and doesn't depend upon your home networking.
