Multi 3 manufacture started 2002

Very similar audio performance to McCormack DNA-125 (3ch: DNA-HT3) and Marsh amps same era.  If you the like McCormack or Marsh you’ll like this amp.  Of affordable amps the above three brands provide more of the best qualities of tubes and SS.  I would describe overall sound quality as similar to Levinson but less resolution and higher noise content.    Compared to other amps in this price category you’ll notice better space, texture, dimensionality, and musicality, good bass and transient response, and no fatigue; great balance of detail and sweetness.  In direct A-B test Emotiva made more power but was too forward, aggressive, had biting transients, and was instantly fatiguing.

Purchased June 2011 and continuously used till August 2012.  FYI: “wet” (powered up) electrolytic capacitor shelf life is longer than “dry” (powered down).  Fine for stereo or 3-ch.

Seller received the amp bone stock and performed the following simple, passive modifications, which improved resolution.  All mods easily reversed.

1.   Installed self-adhesive damping sheet to the top (vents kept clear)
2.   Installed 42k 1/8W fixed foil type resistors at input (replaced #5)
3.   Installed self-adhesive foam gasket tape, one piece each to chassis contact lip for top, (damps top resonance with screws tightened)
4.   Removed rear panel mounted AC mains rocker power switch (unnecessary because of front panel switch, tape over hole)
5.   Removed 42k input potentiometers for channel balancing (replaced by #2, tape over rear panel access hole)

Amp functioned flawlessly since purchase, absolutely no untoward noise, smooth and quiet power up/power down.  Never shut down, never blew fuse, monitors 88 dB.  Fuse is OEM specification.  This amp repalced 2011 $4k Linn Majik Chakra 3x 100W @ 4 Ohm.  All input/output contacts treated with Caig Pro Gold.  Check clean internal image.
