Have you guys heard of "SUGRU"?

It's a moldable, air-hardening silicone rubber that sticks to almost anything.

I bet there are lots of DIY audio applications for this stuff -- isolation pads, mountings, connector shields/mods, somebody already used it to custom-mold in-ear phones.

First time I had heard of Sugru, but it looks like neat stuff.

A lot of potential uses for that!

It looks like people are already reverse engineering it, or at least, making substitutes. There is a suggestion that it is 50/50 cornstarch and silicone:

I just read that instructable, thanks for the link.

Pretty cool, readily available materials and cheap.

Although having, since I posted, read the story of Sugru's development, I think there may be more to it than simple 50/50 cornstarch and silicone!

seems like that could save your hearing as well by not needing as much output. Earbuds are the daily 2 liter Mountain Dew of audio.
