Any musos within the sound of this thread?
« on: 31 Jul 2012, 12:38 pm »
I just bought a brand new Tascam DP-24 (24 track multitrack digital recorder) and tc electronic Nova System multieffects processor. I'm looking for talented musicians to help make my next album! I can do quiet inline stuff here but prefer to hook up with a drummer with an acoustic set, mics and a dedicated space to work in. I mostly play bass but dabble in the common instruments (guitar, keys, a bit of brass) and write. No deadlines here, no compensation except to be rewarded with a good time spent chilling with the machines and some homemade tunes. I'm thinking a once-weekly music club-type arrangement might be appropriate, maybe a jam night in a local club to boot once we get a coupla tunes. I've been out of the loop for a few years (illness) but am anxious to get back on the horse that threw me...my email is michaelhigh@charter.net. I'm here too infrequently to keep up with PM's, so hit me on the Charter addy and I'll try to respond in due time. Let's have some fun!

Here's the latest... I'm recording for a solid week from August 21st for 7 straight days (my dad's going to visit my sister on the east coast). The only thing that would stop me would be if he offered to fly me out there with him, in which case I would hesitate to resist. So, barring that hitch, I'll be open for sessions throughout that week. I borrowed a set of ddrums, 2 sets of Shure mics and 4 condensers, and like-new Zildjians, so now it's on like Donkey Kong!

I can offer moral support by sitting in front of you as "the audience", drinking beer and applauding at the appropriate times.

On a good day, I can even nod my head in time with the music.

sorry....that's all I've got to offer. Would be cool to see some legit replies though.

Sorry, last time I put on my Jerry Mulligan cap was over 20 years ago.  So count this as another illegit comment.  Be glad to join the cooler crew though.

It's all good. The heat's taking the piss out of everything, except my blog (http://mindseyemusic.blogspot.com). I'm writing as long as the AC's cranking. :green:

You might want to post this in the Musician's Circle with a link.

Might be more folks looking there as well.
