Help with Logitech Transporter
« on: 30 Jul 2012, 12:26 pm »
Yesterday my Transporter stopped working.  It started by not outputting any signal.  It recognized the server and would connect to both my network and squeezebox.com.   Now it won't connect to the network anymore...just keeps timing out.

Word is; Logitech no longer supports these.  Any suggestions as to places that might repair this unit would be much appreciated.  Yes, I have tried a hard reset.  It's pretty expensive to just throw away.
regards,
Hibuck....

I have just started having problems with my Transporter. I can connect to the server but it does not progress the song that shows on the front screen even though I can see the song playing on the PC via the Logitech server software. For your issue try unplugging the router. Leave it off for about 1 min. then plug back in. See if this helps with the wireless connection. Then press and hold the 1 key on the remote whilst you power off and then power on the transporter. This will reset the word clock. You will see a short message on the left screen when you do this then it will return to the logo

Some problems I have seen in the SB2/3/DUET and Transporter are caused by the Wi-Fi card. You might want to try removing the card to see if it will work correctly. It will need to be connected to your computer with an Ethernet cable and you will need to reset the unit to factory defaults and go through the set-up again.

Another common problem with the Transporter is the small 5 volt switching supply does tend to go bad.

Good luck!

For $2000+, they better have.
I'd contact Logitech and see what happens.

I would think so, the Transporter is still a current product for sale on the Logitech website.

....and have come down considerably in price since I checked last.

I also see it has a 3 year warranty. Are you still in by chance?

The contents of this thread below at the Squeezebox Forum is very disconcerting regarding repairs for Transporters.

Goggle Transporter not playing. I did and found that the #1, #2  buttons on the remote work to re program the unit and mine is now working. Let me know if you need a link as I can go back and find it

Thanks for all the replies!  I did a hard reset and still no go...began to wonder if it was the recent "upgrade" to mountain lion on my mac mini.  Sure enough, after a reload of logitech music server, the transport connected and worked just fine.  Note to self...sometimes you need to leave something alone when it's working and forego so called upgrades that stop talking to your equipment.

Especially when it comes to Logitech's "upgrades".  :duh:

Glad you got it working though.

Hibuck...

That explains it. When you upgraded the operating system, LMS and the Transporter were looking for the old OS and obviously not finding it. I've had situations where not only where the player and LMS had to be restarted, but the router, too.
