Sophia Electric EL34 music amp $425 - 28 wpc

Long story short: we are moving in a month and I am putting a lot of items on sale due to non-audio reasons ... I am not leaving the hobby, just that the priority will be home theater for now

This is one sweet amp - an audiophile amp for music lovers - or something like that ... it has upgraded caps ... as mentioned by previous owner

I will truly regret selling this amp ... it took me years before I found a tube an amp like this and now it is time to pass it to someone else ...

Upgraded caps, switch (selector and on-off)and good tubes 28 watts that sound like a lot more ... and makes really good music

I am surprised - this amp has not moved ...
The only reason I am selling this amp is so I do not have to move this stuff and also I need to invest in Home Theater ...

This is not an entry level tube amp - this is a mid level tube amp (after the cap and selector switch upgrade) at less than entry level price ...

If I could have kept it - I would have ... I know I cannot buy this or similar tube amp close to this price ...

Local pickup from 11375 strongly recommended - I will throw in a CD or two as well ...

A few people willing to pay full price + ship ... but I prefer not to ship - why? because I do not have an appropriate box and boxing / shipping is a hassle while we are in the middle of a move ...

Is the "preamp" section passive? ie, just a volume control? (I'm actually hoping the answer is yes.)

Are 4 and 8 ohm taps available, or only 8?

- Passive stepped volume pot - no remote.
