The 5's and 5A's each have a battery inside on the internal crossover board as well as in the external hi-pass filters.

Has anybody changed their batteries?

Was it easy or hard?

Did you hear a difference once fresh batteries were inserted?

I am overdue on changing the ones on the internal crossover and just about due for the hi-pass filters.

I have not, but here's a pic of the 5A crossover batteries.


The crossovers are easy to get out--all one needs is a phillips screwdriver.  Once it's out, I suggest you measure the Voltage before going further.  Max. Voltage would be c. 28.8; I wouldn't change them until the Voltage got to below, say, 20.
