Looking for good worthwhile options, as I have some R&R starting tomorrow in these 2 areas.

Thanks!

Anand.

Amoeba. Their SF store is fabulous (as is their LA store).  Haven't been but they also have a store in Berkeley.

Silver Platters in downtown Seattle and also Bellevue has vinyl. And cd's obviously, usb, concert blurays, dvd's, knickknacks, stuff for the shelf, a huge selection, low prices, free swag, a cool vibe.

You also get a card that stores points. I've recieved many a free album this way.

 May they never close.

Neptune Music in the University district of Seattle is excellent. Great owner and staff, store is crammed but organized.  Make sure to look for their "choice" stuff which is in boxes on the floor. Also Jive Time in the Fremont district. Excellent jazz section.
