iPad camera connector with eastern electric dac +
« on: 19 Jul 2012, 01:29 am »
Has anyone had experience playing iPad, iTunes via USB cam connector to EE minimax dacplus?
My iPad reads 'incompatible USB device'
Thanks
Tom

I have hooked up successfully to ee dac + a dell pc, a mac book pro, and a 27-inch mac  :thumb:.
For my iPod I connect it to the ee dec + through a pure doc (info in my system).  I don't believe that a direct connection from an iPad would work because you need a file driver, that you download from the ee website.

I've seen reports that say if your device draws too much power from the USB the iPad won't allow it to work. Some have been able to get things to work with a powered USB hub. Like Andre2 said, the pure dock works great and is pretty cheap. Ryan

thanks for the feedback. Having found out that Ipad wasn't going to be a great solution, or that I'd need to start buying more bits and pieces to try and make it work I picked up a Squeezebox touch for $217 from Amazon. Although I prefer Itunes as a management system, I think it's been a pretty good purchase overall.. plays well no skipping via wifi. Sound q thru EE dac is excellent. no extra costs. Pretty happy.
