I am trying to like this MOG thing, but it's getting more and more frustrating. The free version is used up in about 10 songs. Also, I am getting a hum during silent passages between songs?? Don't get this with Pandora. I downloaded the App because it was suggested the sound is better in this thread, but after a lengthy download I find I can't use the App till I upgrade to "PRIMO" I guess it's not available on the $5 plan?
 I wish they had a free trial for a week or so. I really want to try before I buy. If I can't get better sound and get rid of the hum, I will just move on. I had hoped the App would be the answer, but I can't try unless I buy. Maybe they already have more subscribers than they can handle, and are discouraging new ones till they catch up?

You are the only person to mention a hum. Google search brings up zero mention of a hum. That sounds like another issue altogether. Lengthy download?! There is a 14 day free trial. You don't even say what you are using? PC? Mac? Phone?

   I may be the only one with the hum, but it's there. However, it's not on a any other source? I am running a Windows 7 PC into a PE DT100A Tripath amp which is dead silent from all other sources This is not a hardware issue IMO. The lengthy download was 5 minutes to download the App. Then I find I can't even use it to try without spending $10 a month? I didn't know there was a 14 day trial? Where did I miss this?

  Don't get me wrong, I like most of what MOG has to offer, I just find it frustrating and difficult for new subscribers to get warm and fuzzy without spending $ Why didn't MOG say that the APP was only available for premium service before the download? I don't have a desire for the mobile version at $10 month, but the PC $5 version would probably work for me. However, the App is only available with the PRIMO version. If I want the best sound, It's $10 a month. The free version sound is not so good.

From what I read on their site yesterday, the sound quality is the same whether free, $4.99 or $10.

I have a Basic $5 account that I use with my Squeezeboxes. I just downloaded and installed the MOG Windows desktop app and it works fine with my account.

This is cool...

MOG can also be used as a source of high quality artwork when ripping albums.

In either the MOG browser or desktop app, when you're playing an album, you can maximize the cover (there's an icon in the upper right corner). Then you can drag and drop that image into a folder or onto your desktop and you'll have a large, high quality album cover. The ones I've tried so far have been 800 x 800 pixels and anywhere from 100 to 350 kB in size.

Hey Jeaton, thanks for the tip. I never realized that, and I like the way it turns the screen into something simple to look at.

Yeah, I'm on board with MOG. Never had a problem with it: love the interface, the selection, the price, etc. I was using spotify for a while, but I found their interface to be too "busy" and the quality sounds better on MOG. I use the "JUST FOR YOU" section to find new music that I like.  It's amazing to me that I used to listen to the same bunch of CD's over&over&over... MOG is kinna like having free reign at a record store.

This is the message I got when I downloaded the App. It won't let me try the App with the free acct. It states you have to upgrade to Primo to use it.
If your able to use it with the basic acct. I will definitely try MOG.  Thanks for the info.

I had a few problems with my old rarely used login not being accepted last week for the free version. When it pushed me  to re-register with a pay account it said my user names were used so wouldn't let me in either way. I emailed support and within a couple hours they had totally resolved it from the back end. Very nice!

MOG has very nice SQ for streaming is fantastic way to discover new music.  While the selection of artists is rather diverse I've found several key albums which weren't available.  Almost makes me think the labels might be holding back slightly by not releasing the full catalog of music.

It's a great value for $5/month and I plan to stick with them for the foreseeable future.

@lacro - I haven't noticed any humming.  Whether via a DAC+headamp or Squeezebox Touch.
