Canon Powershot S100

Purchased an S100 today!

Requirements were camera had to fit in pocket without bulk, tried carrying my Tsi 2 in the past, too bulky for on the job use. Shoot Raw for color prints and 1080I HD.

The plan is to have a camera at the ready while on the job couriering.  Be discrete to hopefully not attract attention, while I take photo/s at some of the job sites I visit. Like today I could have used it to take a picture of this giant sized electric motor.

I find the city boring for the most part, but hopefully I can get some interesting photos. 8)

Just saw Canon store has refurb S95 with coupon code SHIP712 = $224 shipped! If you ever wanted a pocketable camera with largish sensor, it might be time.

A few shots I took yesterday, still learning the camera. I thought camera was set to RAW but pictures uploaded in JPEG.

Okay this picture was taken when there was dark clouds and raining. The previous pictures except for the tractor I used Prophoto color palette in the editor and didn't transfer well on the upload.

The tractor and this one were edited using sRGB color palette.

Lots of marsh around city area especially with all the rain we've had.

This photo I named Cloud 9.

Giant motors that I was told are used in mining, scale is approx. 4'x 3'.

Trimming the yard of weeds I came across what looks like an abandoned sparrows nest.

My cat Princess, may have had something to do with that.

Having a camera at the ready, I see plenty of good photo opportunities that I can't always stop to take the shot. Either cause I'm busy working or a potentially dangerous traffic situation. Like I stopped to take a shot of a marsh on what I thought was a deserted road only to have a dumptruck behind me blast his horn.

Anyway this time of year the subtle shades of green are everywhere, due to all the rain. Notice the shades of green in this photo of horses in a pasture.

More marsh photos

This one, the water is actually green. The angle of the sun created a sheen off the water. I photoshopped the best I could, getting a better handle on levels and curves adjustments.

Had a trip out of the city and spotted these horses along the side of the road near the town of Asquith, SK.

Saw these 3 Amigos at the side of the road and they posed for me.

And this cute little house north of the city.

If you want to catch those opportune pictures you gotta have a camera. :P

Saw this Sunrise and realized I only had a short time to capture the moment.
