Unless you suffer from Audiophilia Nervosa, I don't see any problem.

I've been known to do it from time to time, both with and without the dust cover, and neither the record nor the TT have suffered. I just make sure I run a carbon fiber brush over the record to pick up any dust before I put it away.

Vinyl is a fragile media, but it's not THAT fragile. You'll be fine.

Don't leave it on the platter without dust cover for 3 months including the time you patched and sanded the ceiling before painting, especially if it is Miles Davis Porgy and Bess.

No, not because anything bad will happen to either the TT or the disc but that you are not spinning for weeks!

Just put a record on the turntable that you utterly hate, like the Barbara Streisand album I use, and forget about it!
