Torus downstream of UPS?
« on: 3 Jul 2012, 02:29 pm »
Is it ok/proper to place one of your units downstream of a Richard Gray PowerBridge UPS?

That UPS is feeding front end gear, a projector, and some Crestron control modules.  It is intended to bridge the (frequent) power interruptions between my grid and my whole house generator, which kicks in after the grid is down for 5 minutes.

I was considering two units: one balanced for my music/theater, and a second for the Creston etc.; considering two units in order to keep control gear isolated from front end gear.

A separate 240v input balanced Torus model will go directly from the wall to feed the amps ... the amps draw too much power to have them on the PowerBridge.

Thanks.

Hi Bruce,

It should be OK to use the Bryston BITs downstream - I assume the Powerbridge does not limited current???

The PowerBridge will not be current limiting given the loads that I'll be placing on it. (That's why the amps aren't going to be on it.)

Given that it can output either 240, 230, or 208 am I better off with your larger units that then balance and step down, o,r should I use the 120 outputs?
