I use the SX-1250's  brother the Pioneer SX-1980 as my primary Headphone rig due to the amazing "can" output and have not found a speaker that this 270 watt muscle bound antique can not drive easily.

Amazing really!

Thats one of the most powerful receivers i know, just look at the massive power supply transformers! definitely a good score. Which headphones are you using?
