I've got a ZYX Fuji on my Audiomods Series IV.  Other than the temporary Grado Green (on while my ZYX was getting retipped) this is the only cart I've tried on this particular arm.

Is that a Musical Life table I see in your photo?

Lapsan-  I had a FR2 Mk3 once.  The richest, most sumptuous cart ever.  Man, it was a good one for classical music reproduction.  The 201 was a complete step in the other direction, as I recall.

Lapsan,
I have used Shure V15V,  Grado Sig jr., Koetsu Rosewood. Right now I am using SAE1000e with very good results. I can say that the arm has worked well with all of these cartridges. Having the different weighted shims and 2 counter weights makes it very versatile.

Gents,

Has anyone used or heard this tonearm on the Technics 1200 MK II? Opinion?

Are any of the cartridges mentioned MM or High Output MC?

I have the opportunity to purchase a 1200 MK II at a good price, and thought this would be a good upgrade.

Thanks,

Chris

Ditto on the SAE 1000E HOMC, I've run one and also have heard one on a friends VPI. Both of us are using Series IV arms!

Since Jeff did a lot of the development work with a Goldring 1000 series, I started with a Goldring 1042 MM, which of course, works quite well!

I then switched to a AT OC9ML/II LOMC and Altec SUT, which has a real good synergy with the arm!

Third cart. is the SAE, an excellent jazz cart, it's been a while but I may prefer the AT for classical (large orchestras)!

Hard to pick a favorite, all did well!

I think the arm would be a great upgrade for the Technics 1200!

Ye ole Denon 103D was an excellent jazz cart in a medium mass arm as I recall.  Fast and succinct, but ultimately I opted for the FR, overall.  I suppose it was cause of it's warmth and weight in my system at the time and the music that most enraptures me.

I primarily use either a Grado Master 1 Reference or an Ortofon Kontrapunkt H, rotating them every three or four months. Both work very well in the Audiomods arm. I don't have to change counterweights with these two, which is a plus from the convenience point of view.

I use a Dynavector XX-2 MK II as my main cartridge. I have a Shelter 501 MK II and a Denon 304 as backups. I use them all on my Audio Mods arm with very good results.
