These are, IMO, exceptional speakers, the VSMs being long-time residents of Class A in Stereophile. I've heard the MMs and the MXe's, and the MMs don't sound much different from the SEs, though the MXe's are a nice improvement. But with these, you get most of the way to the MXe's, and I haven't heard anything that comes close at this price.
Come with a copy of the set-up manual and accessories: grilles, spikes, Zobel networks, alignment tool, AC BAM. They have the Edison-Price copper binding posts. In excellent shape, easy 8/10 A'gon rating, but there are three or four small spots on the bases, at the very bottom, where a little paint is missing. So overall a 7/10, but y'ain't gonna see the paint flaws, and a little Sharpie action would cover even those up.
No boxes, unless you want to buy some from Bobby, so local pick-up only in southeastern Virginia. If you want to buy boxes and packing from Merlin, I'd be happy to ship.
