There is a way to change the color of the display from the turquoise green/blue to a blue that almost matches the blue power on LED.

I have a pack of photographic professional lighting filters.

#197 Alice Blue is the filter color that I used.

I measured and cut a section the same size as the display.
The film seems to have a "cling" property and stuck fast to the display.

There may be other tints that will work better, #197 was the closest thing that I had on hand.

I did not attempt to open up the BDP-1 to see if the film could be inserted from the inside, maybe later.

But I got my blue display the expensive way!! I ordered it that way!! LOL

This is a great idea for the BDP-1.  The empeg car stereo utilized a similar design.   You could order the unit with different colored film inserts so it matched the lights on your car's dash.  And the user could change to a different colored film in less than 5 minutes.

I played with a brand new BCD-1 over the weekend. I am so used to seeing black Brystons with blue leds that seeing the traditional green led on the black chassis just didn't look right.

Glad Brystons can be ordered to customer (colour) spec!
