Diamond Jubilee Concert Last Night?
« on: 5 Jun 2012, 09:39 am »
Hi Guys,

I was just wondering if anyone went to the Diamond Jubilee gig last night or if it was shown on TV on the other side of the pond?

My wife and I decided yesterday morning that we would take a trip up and see what was happening, WOW, what a gig, we managed to get right down the front of the Mall crowd, amazing atmosphere, I've been to loads of gigs but nothing like that, I'm not a royalist at all but there was so much love for Queenie I even came over all patriotic a couple of times.

I've been to quite a few multi artist big gigs over the years like Live Aid, Mandella's Birthday gig at Wembley, Amnesty, Knebworth princes trust etc, but with these there is a lot of waiting around between artists, last night was so slick, it really was a greatest hits gig with legend after legend, for me Stevie Wonder, Madness and Paul MCcartney's 'Live and Let Die' stole the show.

Long Live the Queen, so we can have another one in 10 years time :)

I'm looking forward to watching it again today through the SP3, crank it up and see how it compares to being there, I guess I could always wave my Union Jack flag to add to the atmosphere :)

Sounds good, we did a bit of Lite Rock, Coldplay at the Emirates.

Could have done with a couple more octaves of bass; maybe us
Bryston / PMC users are just spoilt! Great show though.

Off to Luton tomorrow for a quick autopsy on one of my 14B channels,
clicked out on the first strike of a thunderstorm so i may be shopping
for some more surge protection tomorrow.

Missing it desperately.

Excellent, I didn't know Coldplay are touring at the moment, shame they weren't on the Jubilee line up really as they are one of the worlds finest bands live.

That's terrible news, hopefully PMC can sort easily for you, sounds like you are in the market for a Bryston BIT

Good luck tomorrow, keep us posted.

Shown on the other side of the pond, are you kidding?  We love the Royal Family almost as much as you guys save for that rascal George V who you can thank that there is "the other side of the pond".  Our media is all over most anything the Royals are up to including the Diamond Jubilee. :thumb:

Dropped it off this morning so i hope to get a diagnosis within the next few days.
Posted a question for James re the BITs in 240 Volt versions.
It might be more tax efficient to get my landlord to put something in the
mains supply though.
The pair of 14Bs never run much over half full continuous power drawing under 3 kVA.

Good luck with the 14B, I'm sure the doctors at PMC will get it back to full health in no time, just hope your wallet stays as healthy.

I'm hoping to get one of the variations of BIT in on demo shortly, Just waiting on PMC to confirm the prices, I'll let you know.

For the sake of historical corectness I assume you meant George III 'Farmer George'.

All done and will be on test Monday so i've booked in for collection on Wednesday. Great service, esp as we had a three day week last week.

I've got some basic surge protection coming as a stop gap, i guess i should start saving for a pair of BIT8s and a 4!

It will be really interesting to hear what you think of the BIT when you demo it.

Sorry if i've drifted this thread.

Yeah, I think you're right.  George H. W. and George W. were IV and V respectively.
