My Hornshoppe Horns SOLD
« on: 2 Jun 2012, 09:34 pm »
SOLD
Radical downsizing requires me to sell my beloved Horns. They have EnABLED drivers. I don't remember who EnABLED them, but it was a nice job. I got the drivers from a respected member of this forum. Bought the Horns from Ed as a second pair. Ed said their appearance was "rough", but I used them in my man cave so no WAF was considered. They are not veneered in his usual veneer and have a somewhat "home-made" appearance, but the finished surfaces are smoothly finished- in that sense, not rough. It looks like Birch plywood. The top front is a rabbet joint which is apparent in the pics. On the top of one of the speakers there are some dings. I've tried to capture them in the pics. I lined the resonance box with acoustic material to reduce sound reflected back out thru the speaker diaphragm. Included are outrigger-type points to attach to the speakers' bottoms. Ed's original packing. In fact, these might be Ed's original Horns. You can see holes for mounting the driver square, not diagonally. Shipping from South Florida. Make me an offer I can't refuse.

Oops, my bad -- those are a pair that Ed himself EnABLed.  Still have the sonic improvements that comes with the treatment, just didn't have the other stuff that P10 does.

Those are planet-10 enabled drivers.

No they are not. Mine are tidier than that (althou my 1st pair were on par with those -- a thousand + drivers practise i should be better at it now :))

Thanks, guys. I had just remembered that Jim GAVE them to me. What a guy!  :thumb:

Ed, too, always dealt square with me, tho we had our disagreements over politics, etc. I guess I'm in a large and non-exclusive club in that regard.

Anyhow, I liked the effect of EnABLing. I wonder what it would do to the sound of some Tannoy Westminster Royal SE's. I'd love to A-B that set-up. In fact, I'd be happy to hear Westminsters in any form.
