Auidosource AMP-100??
« on: 30 May 2012, 01:13 pm »
Curious about this lil amp, which is reasonably priced.  However, I would like some personal opinions if some of you guys have it.  Amazon has over 200 review on it, just wondering about real users on this site?

Thanks~

It's a reliable amp that runs cool.  It will run monitors with reasonable efficiency reasonably well.  It won't screech but it won't titillate you either.  The not-too-thin sound is good enough on 2-way rear surrounds with 6 and 1 inch drivers.

As Woodsyi has stated the AMP-100 is a good amp to run rear surround speakers.  I have two of these amps (mono mode) to drive my rear Axiom M3ti's.  I have no complains what so-ever.  And the price can't be beat.

I've been considering it to run a few speakers in my garage thats all and has peaked my interest...  I also have a pair of Sonance patio speakers which I would like to run as well...  undecided, so many good and cheap options out there but I dont want to just buy cheap and have regrets if you guys know what I mean :duh:

I think for your use it's a pretty safe bet . They have been selling these amps for many many years, so they must be doing something right, not that that means anything, bargain price for what's probably a nice little dependable amp

I had one for three days and returned it because it was the least impressive amp I've ever purchased.  I purchased to run my outdoor audio setup and even in bridged mode is was nothing impressive.

The Audiosource Seven-T is also a great amp with 200 wpc. It's a Tripath base class D amp. You can only find it used. They weren't allow to sell them but someone did on ebay some years back, so I snagged 2 of them. My Bryston 4B-ST has been in the closet ever since.
