Levinson 332

My 332 has developed a hum in the left channel Levinsons service partner  :x said it would cost $1600 to fix
should I start looking for a new amp?

I have the same problem for my amp, and I just find a local hi-fi store to fix it with only 200 bucks, so I recommend you to check with local service store to see if you can get the cheaper price.

the humming is not an uncommon problem with the Levinsons. I think that they charge a flat rate for repair no matter what the problem is. I once sent a monoblack to them for repair beacause it was creating a fluttering sound through the tweeter. When I got it back the problem was still there. Needless to say I wasn't impressed.
I'd try and find somewhere relatively local if you can. If you fancy a road trip or want to send it somewhere try St Louis Computronics is St Louis Mo. Jeff is really good with amps and is reasonably priced. You can get his contact details at www.stlouiscomputronics.com.

I know few with ML that been very happy with this place good customer service and the highest paid was $350.They are certified to fix ML and company is ISO.Just give them a call 1-800 number.Good Luck
