> Those funk audio 18.3's are indeed beautiful subs, enjoy and let us know sometime how it all sounds together.

in a word, spectacular.

i spent last night searching my music collection for recordings which would exercise these new speakers.  some messiaen organ pieces, an album from ute lemper, oshima's soundtrack from Tsubaki Sanjuro containing some explosive drumming passages.

it goes without saying that the 18.3's are capable of shaking the room, but what impressed me was that they did so without sacrificing the speed and articulation of the lower registers, a quality which first drew me to the emerald physics OB speakers.  it's musical all the way down, no mud.

i have further critical listening to do, but the impulse to just sit back and enjoy is difficult to resist.

the photos don't really do justice to the level of craftsmanship achieved by nathan and his crew.

Funk Audio's designs just rock. If I have the space, I would replace my ULF Rythmik with a pair of sealed Funk 18s. We'll see since they may be out of budget, but a HUGE value compared to commercial $10k and $20k subs out there.

oldie but goodie.

i have had these, (yes, i have a pair), for about17 years now.  megawoofer upgrade was done ~10 years ago.  some definite bass porn in this thread, but these are still adequate.   8)

The 1812 replaced two JL F-113's,now I have superb bottom end and midbass punch that really gets the emotions going with the right recording.
One in particular is Bluray disc: Jeff Beck's(Live at Ronnie Scott's)if your sub(s) are doing it right you should be ecstatic to say the least.

I received my beautiful Daedalus BOW subwoofers. They are powered by a Bryston 4B ST thourgh an active, dynamic crossover built by Wayne (Bolder Cable). Crossover frequency is 55hz. The cabinet is cherry to match my DA-1.1s. The spikes are sitting on Herbie's decoupling gliders.

My personal Sofa Subwoofer:
2 12"s in a negatively tapered BLH, push pull alignment to reduce distortion, approx 12 cubic ft. This baby rocks, and it disappears in the room.

Dayton Classic Woofers

15" sealed sub for a guys car:

Dayton Classic (sub?)Woofer

Another 12" negatively tapered horn, this is my secondary in room subwoofer:

8" TL for a friend:
Tang Band W8-1747

Some PA subs (TH18s) I built for my school. This is an old picture of just the first one but by now 4 are finished. (136dB on a field @ 1 meter w/ 3 of them!!!)

There are a few other that aren't on my computer but this is most of the interesting stuff. I realize that none of them are finished but most of the pics are old and have since been painted or otherwise finished...

Something a little different -- one sub positioned higher than the other (due to space constraints).

Heres some subs I built a few years ago.
Dayton 12" in dual, with a OAudio 500w bash in each.
I use these to compliment a couple of Selah Audio
arrays I built a few years ago for my HT system....
its sitting dormant right now waiting for a reno of the HT room.
The rears are arrays as well but not quite as large, these and the center
is also other Selah offerings.

The rears and center....
