we are sharing room 317 in the Hilton with Modwright.
Dan and I decided to show a simple affordable yet totally high end system and we are pleased to have the new Wywires silver cables in the room!

Thanks for posting the dance card.  I'll say hello.  I've always wanted to hear a pair of Daedalus speakers.

Thank you for the hospitality. I was really surprised when I found I was sitting next to Dan. The rig sounded wonderful. There really was not another company that was even close in cabinent beauty. Gorgious speakers that really sang. Have a safe journey home.

thanks for stopping in. Dan and I had a great time and it was refreshing to do a 'basic' set up for a change and not get caught up in trying to be "best of show".

I was very pleased with how good the new Modwright integrated is, but the real star was the new Modwright DAC module!  we had this in the LS-100 and that is a killer combination. I wish we had Sophia tubes in there as we were just running the stock EH and I know the difference that makes! Still, I was VERY impressed with the DAC performance in both the integrated and the LS-100.

by sunday morning we packed up the turntable as we felt it just wasn't keeping up with the DAC...(that alone is a testament to the DAC's quality!) also we had two different laptop sources. one was a USB connection to the DAC while the other used a Bolder modded SB Touch & power supply. this just confirmed my preference for S/PDIF and the SB Touch... more on that in a different thread....

thanks and I hope to see some of the same faces in DC and RMAF

thanks Jason,

yes Scot of parttime is a very nice guy ... maybe manufacturers should have a VNG award for press like him   I'm looking forward to more hang out time with him at the smaller Capitol Audio fest next month!

there really is a great synergy with the three companies products (ModWright, Daedalus, WyWires).  at Newport we were just doing a simple moderate priced system, not trying to wow anyone, but just showing a solid system that is affordable.  I was very pleased that many people kept coming back to the room and telling us even though there were (obviously) many more amazing systems, ours was the one that just sounds like MUSIC.  I can't think of a much better compliment.

the three of us will be working together again at RMAF but this year Dan and I have a big room on the main floor (behind the bar!) and we hope to set up two systems, one of which will be our "no holds barred".  should be a lot of fun.

thanks,
lou
