Great news for all of us lovers of full range electrostats.
There is a new manufacturer in action, pio sound.
That's the (more than) 10% increase!
Here is the link
http://www.piosound.com/en/
That makes three manufactures from Holland now.
I understand that they have arisen our of the ashes of final sound so there would be a long history of electrostatic know-how behind them.
That makes one new manufacture of full range and one new manufacturer of hybrids in the last couple of months!
Wow!
Maybe we are seeing something of a revival of interest in electrostats.
Great!
Looks like they have some good products but it is early days and, it seems, new models are slowly trickling out.
Lets see what the future holds.

More good news! Audio Exklusiv, a German firm, presents its new P 3.1 electrostatic speaker. Only the model is new but maybe some of you don't know about it because I couldn't find any mention of the firm in the entire site. It is distributed in America by Charisma Audio, a Canadian firm.

Enjoy!

Maybe we have a Year of the Electrostats coming up?
It's been long overdue.

I sure wisk someone would bring out DD OTL's driving electrostatics like the Acoustat X's. Maybe Roger Modjeski?

Thanks for the Audio Exklusiv update.
Here is the link for a review.

You can use translate to read it from the German.
I guess the cost is fairly typical for a full range electrostatic.

Here you go:

I used to have customised (American Hybrid Tech) Acoustat amps. It was magic.  I think Roger Modjeski still has electrostats and amps in storage. You ought to get in touch with him if you're still looking.  I understand he's working with another customer who has Sound Labs and Beveridge speakers.

For those that have never heard DD amps on your ESL's, you need to check out the Music Reference Circle here on AC. Roger Modjeski claims his new design of amps will even drive the Quads or any other ESL.

I just don't know what's going on!
All these new (or new to me) electrostats.
They seem to be all coming out of nowhere.
Not that this is not good news for us electrostat lovers.
Here is a new one, Silberstatic from Germany.
Here is the 6moons review if you want some more detail.

Let them just keep rolling out!
But it would be really good if some of our members had actually heard some of these and could give us some more detail.

Thanks for the Silberstatic review. I visit 6moons often but hadn't checked lately.

Regarding the Audio Exklusiv P 3.1 I reported on earlier, there is a review by Stereoplay (in German) here. They rank it pretty well among all the speakers they have tested, but somewhat below the Final 1000 that is now out of production. It has severe dynamic limitations, they found.

I visited the Silberstatic website, and they also make three more ELS models!
