I purchased this amp new in November 2011. I paid ~$1950. I have all of the original packaging. This amp is in perfect working condition and excellent cosmetic condition. I have not put more than ~100 hours on the tubes. This amp is also the "special edition" which comes with upgraded Full Music tubes. This amp also functions as a pre-amp with multiple inputs and a solid aluminum remote control. I am asking $900.
This is a great sounding amp and a real bargain for someone looking for a high powered SET sound. This amp is not syrupy at all, rather the sound is typical of a good 805 based SET amp with an easy, relaxed, and warm tone. Bass is incredibly deep and strong. Images, especially lead vocals and instruments are huge with plenty of depth and layering. I feel that the strongest point of this amp is that it has huge presence and excellent depth. Tonality falls on the rich and relaxed side, and is a perfect match for jazz and vocals. Top end is very relaxed, never sounding harsh or strident although it is a bit sweeter than dead neutral. I would say it compares very well with the Cary 805 which I have also owned. For what I paid, I thought it was a considerable bargain. For what I'm asking, it is an absolute steal, especially if you are looking to try a high powered SET on a budget. I just bought new speakers and I needed a new amp as well, otherwise I would not consider selling it. This amp drove my 85dbwm Usher Mini Dancer 1's with good authority and dynamics.
