Hi!

I'm in the process of choosing power amp for PMC PB1i (no proper preamp yet, Onkyo receiver will do temporarily). Planning to buy 4BSST2, use in in stereo, then upgrade system buying another one 4B and switch both to mono. Or I better wait and buy couple of 7BSST2 right away?

Which combination gives me better sound? Thanks in advance.

7B's are the best choice - when you bridge an amplifier it 'sees' 1/2 of the impedance it does in stereo so it is a more difficult load for the bridged amp.

i just purchased the 14bsst2 to drive new PMC PB1i speakers (Nuforce P9 preamp) and it sounds excellent. I chose the 14 over 2 7bssts due to space limits but the 7b's would be the best bet. Lets us know when you get a new pre as I am looking for a new one as well

Yep, that's also what i was told, better to go with 2 mono amps than bridged ones.
I bought two 7B SST2 and they are just unbelievable, love them !!!  8)
I now use my 4BSST2 on bridged mode for my center channel, but i plan to get ridd of it and use another 7B SST2 instead.
