I'm back!...Well kind of...
« on: 24 May 2004, 06:15 pm »
Hello everyone,

Hope you all are doing well! Seems like there hasn't been much going on in this Circle as of late due to my absence. I do apologize for the absence from AC for the last month or so...in addition to being very busy due to job relocation to the San Diego area, selling of our house and purchasing a new home which is currently in escrow , my personal belongings including my personal computer have been in storage for a month now and still is...basically, I have had very limited bandwidth.

While I'm can no longer call Los Angeles home, I do believe Temecula is still considered part of So Cal. Anyhow as soon as I've got my audio gear all set up in the new home, I may have to host another listening session as it has been quite awhile since we've done one of these things...

Anyone interested in attending a listening session in Temecula? It won't be for a month, but I wanted to gauge interest first.

Happy listening!  :D

other than Jon L, no interest? strange...i seem to recall that there were more than a few AC members located down in the SD area and Temecula isn't more than a stone's throw from SD...skchow? maybe the AC member with the Ellis 1801F and i will finally be able to hookup?

as the new home is a little larger than the old one, John Casler is more than welcome to stay over if the trek is too much to do in 1 day...

Mad Dog,
Congratulation on your new job and new house.
I would love to attend the listening session but it will be hard for me to find some free time. Right now, I'm swamped with honey-do-list on weekend. Hopefully, I'll be able to catch up and have some free time to attend the Colorado GTG. Are you going to this one?

I'm in Encinitas, and I'd be interested in coming up. What gear are you setting up?

Cool, we missed you the last time we did the preamp session, JackStraw!

I'm trying to get ahold of some new gear...

Possibly some Von Schweikert VR-4jrs, maybe a pair of Onix Ref 3s...Maybe I can talk Robert Lee into bringing or letting me borrow some Acoustic Zen cables...Got some Eichmann SCs, Eichmann Digital cable and a pair of Argent Jaden Sig ICs that are in my hands for review that went straight to storage that I'll need to liberate...

Nifty. If there is interest I can bring a few things that others might want to see/hear:

1) Stan Warren modded Aiwa > MSB combo.
2) ACI Emerald Onwall speakers.

Are you planning to hit the Wine and Balloon Festival? It ain't Napa, but Temecula wineries have their charm.

Haha, does the question need to be asked?  Of course I'm interested. :)  The only thing that would prevent me from coming up is that I have my LAST SET of finals in 3 weeks. ;)

haven't seen you post lately and wondered if you were still around...glad to see you still are.

GOOD LUCK on your finals! are you planning to stick around down here after you're done or go back to LA/OC?

since we're still 2 wks from moving in to the new place, the chances that the meeting will occur in 3 wks is none. :)

Thanks. :D  I'll be staying down here since I got a job with the University.  Essentially I'll be doing what I'm doing now except without school in the way, I don't have to bring the work home anymore.   But yeah, the next time you hold the meeting, I'll be finally rid of my shackles, so I'll definitely try to make it!

Sunny.

I know what you mean. We moved in in February, and we're still figuring out where our stuff is. Take care.

I haven't been around in a while...home renovations take an eternity...going on 3 months.

That said,  looks to be over in the next two weeks and then I would love to host a session.

I'm pretty new here, but would you be interested in another set of ears? :P  I was wondering where a good place would be to ask if there was any interest in checking out Rick Craig's new monitors as a group to save on shipping, as well, and it seems like this could be something to consider.  I can't use them in my current situation because they are too tall, but I'd sure like to hear them.

welcome!

when we'd hold sessions at my old townhome in LA, i'd always welcome new folks! too bad i had to move to temecula...i'm interested in hear Rick's new speakers as i was originally on the demo list for his RC3Rs that never quite made it down to me...but i'm not exactly close by anymore...

Thanks :)

Hopefully you guys will be interested in checking those monitors out.  I'd be willing to chip in for shipping even if I only get to hear them that one day, whenever the meet is.  I wish the cabinet weren't so darned tall :P  Oh well, it's a bit on the pricy side for me anyway.
