HiRez Mixtapes - possible?
« on: 18 May 2012, 06:28 pm »
Hi all,
I have a bunch of SACD's and other hirez that I've ripped using the ps3.  I have a question - if I want to put together a demo tape of tracks from different SACD's onto a single disc, how would I go about doing that?

I've been thinking about the same thing.  I'm guessing it depends on the player you want to play the disc on.  I know of four options:

  • DVD-V: Compatible with any DVD player.  Convert files to 24/96 PCM and burn tracks to the audio portion of the DVD-V disc format
  • DVD-A: Compatible with DVD-Audio players.  Convert files to 24 bit PCM up to 192 and burn tracks to DVD-A disc format
  • DSD Disc: Compatible with select SACD players.  Assemble DFF tracks in Korg AudioGate and burn to DSD Disc format.
  • CD: Universally compatible.  Assemble tracks in Korg AudioGate, convert to 16/44 and burn to CD

Are there any other disc formats for music playback I missed (other than MP3)?
