I made an impetuous online purchase the other day. I bought a closeout Clearaudio Sigma, an out-of-production MC which seemed to be well-regarded, and at quite low mass (for an MC) seemed to be a good match for my Rega RB303 tonearm. It will be connected to a Heed Quasar preamp, thence to a Threshold FET 10/e. But look how tall it is! (...or does it just seem that way?)
It was an impulse buy and probably not a wise one, but it's due in soon and I'm posting here to inquire if folks have knowledge of this odd-shaped MC cartridge. Is it really as tall as it appears in pictures? Reputation for sound?
