Share your favourite underrated artist

It is a shame that there are so many great musicians out there that are underrated.
Why we do not share it here and we might able to change this somehow. :thumb:
Here is one.

My vote goes to Michael Garrison, though I may have a few more suggestions later.

I have two of his albums, Brave New World & Michael Garrison Live. They're both good albums but I prefer Live. At first I wasn't too keen on his style of electronic music probably because I was comparing him to Tangerine Dream. However his artistry stands on its own and he truly was one of the pioneers of early electronic music.

If he had a weakness I would say it was the phony style drum sequencers available to him in his day. Sadly he is no longer with us.

Nick Saloman of the Bevis Frond ... actually he is The Bevis Frond. Hendrixian psychedelic guitar chops with excellent song writing abilities. Has a huge catalog and is vastly underrated.

There's tons of under appreciated musical talent.  One example is Eilen Jewell - www.eilenjewell.com.  Her band has been together a long time and just her lead guitarist is worth it to see.

Gare du Nord is a great Dutch jazz band that seems to get little recognition this side of the pond.

Great idea for a thread, my 2 suggestions that I feel people should really listen to are Tom Mcrae and William Fitzsimmons, both very underated in my opinion, these are 2 of their best -

Click on any of the songs in the listen section.  I'd like to know what you think.

Rene Marie.  Think Sarah and Ella and a ton of soulful bluesy arangements.  Below is her latest album "Black Lace Freudian Slip":

Mine is Sarah K.  She has retired from performing and recording because "It's not worth it" for the return on her efforts.  The thought broke my heart.  Here is her with the sadly deceased Chris Jones accompanying.

I caught Tom Mcrae opening for someone at a small club a few years back and bought his CD.  Ellis Paul plays a small club near me all the time and its been on my to do list for a couple of years.  I just seem to be unable to sync my schedule when he plays.  I have a bunch of Sara K stuff.  There are so many good ones.  Fionne Regan is another good one.  I caught him live at a small club (I had his first CD alread) and brought it to the Capital Audiofest last year.

It's okay, but its too ambient for me. Ambient is good when your in the mood for it. My taste is difficult to discribe, trance like, analog synth sound, artistic creativity with an awesome soundscape.

Get Brave New World by Michael Garrison and you will know what I mean.

My favorite Techno song if you can find it is Jetlag by DJ Kim, that's what I'm talking about. 8)
