Hi P,

thanks for the reminder. Made some updates to both my main and study system.

Good to look back from time to time.

Yes, thanks for the reminder...I was behind in updates myself.  It's easy to skip if you're upgrading regularly.

Wolfy,

Yes, quite well...only it pointed out how woefully shrill and inadequate my amps (Norh Multiamps) are/were in my system.  I changed a couple things out and now have near grain free music happening.

I've been traveling a lot in the week since I got the stuff back from Empirical Audio/Steve (4 of last 7 days), but it sounds big, dynamic and jitter free now.

I'll post a little something in Critics Corner when I can.  I don't know diddly about tech stuff and I don't listen to enough to know whether my system is world class or anything akin, but I know it's enjoyable now.  THAT'S something it's never been before with digital playback.

I'm way more impressed with Steve's remarkable follow-thru and follow-up than his advanced technical prowess.  I'm sure there are other modders that could have made my system sing to one degree or another.  What separates Steve out from the pack, I believe based on a few horror tales out there, is his total professionalism.  18 friggin' emails in the 2 weeks from the first night I contacted him to the day he shipped back to me :D   I didn't initiate the emails, only answered them...he kept me abreast every step of the way - he certainly didn't have to, but did.

I've been in sales for 18 years and I haven't succeeded simply because I communicate better than most other salespeople.  I simply did not expect a world class engineer to be as good at communication as he is. That kind of professionalism was way unexpected and much appreciated here.

Steve, if you're eave dropping here...I am not sure I've ever said 'thank you' to someone after dropping $1800.00 to them, but thank you I must.  It was a total pleasure.

Wolfy, he keeps your insane hours, too...I emailed him at 11PM, he emailed me back at 1:30AM.  :!:

It was just bone honest, not kind.  I can be kinda' blunt when something is awry; nothing about you or your business was anything but great.

I'm not the type that would purposely malign someone's business if my experience was not perfect...unless I thought there was a sham going on and I could protect others from the same pratfall.

I really didn't expect an engineer, not known nor paid by the word ya' know   , to communicate as well as you did. This was a flawless experience for me; one that I had doubts about going in beforehand.  Even tho I heard the good work you did at CES in January.  I am just not a rah-rah, pro-modder kinda' guy.

My systems sounds very good now and I really felt you did everything possible to make it a positive experience - and did.  If you provide this to all your customers, you will be a busy man for life, modding and making cables.

Thanks for leaving Intel...you're waaaay more appreciated here.

I will now cease the ass-puckering comments in Audio Central.  They will be in Critics Circle for review when I can.
