If you're reading this, you know what these are and the near-cult status they have enjoyed since they came out, but here's the full description of what I'm offering:
*** SOLD ***
a pair of ASL Wave-8 mono amps in very good condition (especially considering their original selling price and age). All switches and connections are tightly mounted and have a positive feel. One binding post on one amp seems to have a slightly larger inside diameter for the banana plug, but otherwise works perfectly. Original tube cages are included, but when I got the amps they only had 3 screws in each, not 4. Also included is a set of (russian?) tubes that sound pretty decent, plus an extra pair of tested tubes which I never tried, plus one spare NOS Raytheon 6bm8. Also included are two matched NOS quads of ECL82s -- one Matsushita made, Aiwa Thorn branded quad (superb with the ASLs) and a quad of Siemens. Tubes will only be sold with the amps, so please no requests for the tubes alone. And I'll throw in a new pair of Volex 14 gauge, 7 foot power cables that seem to synergize very well with these amps.
I have all original boxes and packing materials as well.
Price is a firm $375 shipped (cut from my original asking price of $425, and this is the bottom line on these.)
Paypal is preferred and there will be no paypal fee to the buyer.
These amps are long out of production, they sound terrific as they are but can also be easily modified for even greater performance, show up very rarely on the used market, and this stock pair is in very good condition and sound great on my 91 dB SD speakers.
Pics can be provided on request, otherwise just contact me via email or PM. Nothing to hide here, and lowballers, don't even bother.
Thanks,
Jim
