Rega counterweight "upgrade"
« on: 10 May 2012, 04:34 pm »
I need to get a new heavier counterweight for my RB301 to accommodate my new Zu Denon cart.
I am looking at the GrooveTracer for $168 shipped and the Pete Riggle CCM for <$100 shipped. Does anyone have a reason I should get the more expensive one? The GrooveTracer is super cool looking but that only goes do far.

If you get a Michell "Techno Weight" it  can be used on all cartridges weights.
More versatile. That is what I did, I sold the GT it was too heavy for the cartridges I'm using. There is one on the Asylum Trader now.

No it's not mine.

Either the Mitchell or the one pictured in the previous post. Both will get the center of gravity more where it will work for you. Either will also improve the lateral balance of the arm. The Mitchell seems more "adjustable"

I like the Techno Weight as well for my Rega P25 with Denon 103R.
