Over the years we auditioned a number of class D-based designs and had mixed feelings. There always was something uncomfortable in the music reproduced. Exceptions were class D amplifiers mounted in a wooden enclosure. Somehow the wood’s natural filtering took off the nasty edges. With the Kharma MP150 a similar effect was achieved by loosening one of the screws on the bottom to let the amplifier breathe.

Let’s leave the sanity behind and start loosening screws to determine what impact it has on sound, after all the only way to know the result is to try it, right?
Would not hurt to try wooden enclosure as well…

Some of my Bryston's are mounted in custom wood wall mount cabinetry. While they still sound good, it can get rather stuffy in there....I think that 6moon reviewer has a screw  loose ; ).

On some other sites folks have placed a teflon plumbers tape under the flange (or between the top or bottom and the case) between the parts anyway, and screwed down the top or bottom.
Claim improvement in sound.
The manufacturer of the item was Audio research. (if you know Audio Research stuff.. all of it's earlier stuff had 'flimsy' open mesh tops and bottoms. I can see where adding a bit of teflon tape to cushion them could reduce vibrations..

For Bryston the sheet metal is pretty solid. Especially on amps! So I do not think any 'screwing' around is going to affect the sound.

Gives the audio hobby a bad name.  Embarassing...
