We have been into the Professional Audio for a while, the best Pianist in the World, the best Acoustic Bass player and also one of the best drum players (not forget one of the Metropolitan Opera Singers, NY, and other musicians and singers) can say YES to that. Anyway, there is a pretty big difference between the musical high-end market and the professional audio market (to inform: Internet "cheap skaters" don't know that)!
Acoustic Reality Professional is our division to the PRO AUDIO market. Mid 2004 Acoustic Reality Professional is introducing a 1000W power amplifier to the professional market. The design of the fully B&O ICEpower designed OEM electronic is 100% equal to the so called "high-end" Jeff Rowland Design Group 501 amplifier, other than the 501 amplifier is priced to USD 6500 per pair.
The price will be USD 699 per mono-block (EURO 575 or DKK 4300 ex. vat). The amplifier will give you all the power you need to power your PA system. Cool running, nothing less that excellent to PA. Will it beat any of our high-end amplifiers? Not the resolution, but the bass beats the smallest of our high-resolution models (the bass does not beat the middle high-end models and up, and not the deepth and details into the music). However, ridicules to compare, because it is two completely different products (and catagories). More information's to come!

"The design of the fully B&O ICEpower designed OEM electronic is 100% equal to the so called "high-end" Jeff Rowland Design Group 501 amplifier"

Does that mean you copied it? Did you have  a good look at the 501 first before you built you amp?

I am not sure how it is okay for you to appear to admit to copying the JRDG amp and yet get in a tizzy over someone (ICEH20) who has produced a  new IcePower amp (that is not at all similarly designed to yours, and looks to have bettered yours sonically) based on innovative design for less money.

Good for the goose, good for the gander.

p,

I hope you are right. All that "best in the world" talk must have gotten to me the same way everything Donald Trump owned was "best in the country" on the TV show "The Apprentice"

I guess we all have different ways of marketing our gear/wares and not all of  them appeal to everyone. I don't like it when things start to cross the line into libel and misguidance though . . .

Crazy hobby it is.

Peter,

What would be the general design differences/goals b/w pro-audio and audiophile, in your opinion. . .

What would be the differences sonically speaking. . .

Honnestly:

JRDG add a Lunddal 1902 transformer and changes the input inpedance, that's all, ask them!

What would be the differences sonically speaking. . .
To what? To our high-end amplifiers there is a resolution and the deepth to the difference. It is static on the PRO series.

If you want the distortion of line transformers, then buy one yourself and you got it!

Does your new amp come with a fire extinguisher, or did you add some short circuit protection circuitry?

Today, ALL our power amplifiers have short circuit protection.

Marbles, you could not make a case out of that :D

JohnR,

Without a doubt the best LIVING pianist in the world is NIELS LAN DOKY.
To your information's: He is playing on the Italian FAZIOLI piano, which has much more overtones and volume than other piano (or any Steinway piano).

Regardless, you should for SURE try to play some of his CD recordings, he is fantastic.

(Unfortunately a very few on this forum hate me for the reason I don''t know other than very old forum discussions, but not for discussions live in person. However I am a big fan of NLD, please try to listen to his music and you will be overwelmed.)

BTW:  He is VERY friendly in person too, I have worked with him a lot here in the years passed.

Peter, I want people to know who they would be dealing with if they dealt with you.  They can see from your own words.

The problems have never really been about your products..the ones I have seen/heard or heard about have all been very nice.

The problem is your seemingly manic/depressive behavour.

The last thing though is you are so fun to torment, it's hard for me to resist.

surely, playing on whatever with more overtones and volume makes him the BEST LIVING PIANIST in the world.

However as soon as I can get Peter's doohikey  and connect it to my Steinway, this will make ME the best living pianost in the world.
